NIACC men’s cross country team ranked No. 9, women No. 22

MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s cross country team is ranked No. 9 and the NIACC women are ranked No. 22 in the final USTFCCCA rankings of the season.

The NJCAA national meet is set for Nov. 12 in El Dorado, Kan.

The NIACC men, who were ranked No. 9 in the Oct. 19 poll, placed second at the NJCAA Region XI meet in Mason City last Saturday. Wal Khat led the Trojans with a second-place finish at regionals and Zach Freund placed 11th.
Iowa Central is ranked No. 1 and Iowa Western is ranked No. 21.

The NIACC women, who were not ranked in the Oct. 19 poll, returned to the rankings after placing third at the regional meet. Kendra Schmidt led the Lady Trojans with a 13th place finish at regionals.

Iowa Central is ranked No. 1 and Iowa Western is No. 15 in the women’s rankings.
