Three North Iowa residents indicted by feds for meth-selling conspiracy

CEDAR RAPIDS – Three persons who have lived in and around Mason City for years have been indicted by federal authorities on charges related to selling methamphetamine.

George Perry, age 42; Angelita Lynn Gutierrez, age 42, and David Schaer, age 47 had federal charges brought against them for a meth-selling conspiracy dating back to early 2013.

Perry, a known criminal, was picked up by four Cerro Gordo deputies on January 28th while riding in a car on 6th SW and South Polk Place. Last year, in March, a routine traffic stop lead to the arrest of Perry and another Mason City woman – Jennifer Lynn Haxton – as police discovered a “large quantity” of methamphetamine as well as marijuana and mushrooms after an investigation. Later, all those charges against Haxton were dismissed. Perry was only charged with driving while barred – to which he plead guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison – but he appealed that sentence and five year sentences for felony theft and felony drug possession. He has been free on bond ever since.

All three persons are awaiting court dates. Perry is being held in the Lynn County Jail. Gutierrez and Schaer are being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Jen Haxton’s charges were only dismissed by the state because the feds charged her!
