CLEAR LAKE – A Ventura man who has been charged at least three times previously for domestic abuse was arrested once again for the same offense Sunday night.
Clear Lake police arrested Cory Lee Johnson, age 30, Sunday after responding to a call of a domestic assault at the 500 block of West Lake Street in Ventura. Police said that Johnson was arrested for domestic abuse after an incident involving his girlfriend and that during the altercation he damaged a door on her car.
Charges against Johnson included felony domestic assault and fourth and fifth degree criminal mischief. He was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and went before a judge. He was released under supervision and awaits an unknown court date. Clear Lake police said the incident is still under investigation.
Johnson was charged by Clear Lake police in 2011 with third or subsequent felony domestic abuse. He took a plea deal and was convicted of second offense domestic assault, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was charged $3,793.76 is court costs and fines, but has yet to make a single payment.
Johnson is also awaiting a jury trial on April 1, 2014 for third or subsequent offense public intoxication.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

Isn’t that a face you just want to slap the snot out of?
Another reject who missed my whole point. No use in explaining it to you then. You’re obviously too goddamn dense to understand anyways and it really doesn’t mean that much to me to correct you on that. Have a nice day Retardo Montablan.:P LMFAO
Considering prisons are filled with blacks, and blacks don’t know how to treat women… They won’t give a shit. Nice try at logic though.
If this punky, little, woman-beating twit can’t pay his fines he should remain in jail. Send him to prison and let the other inmates learn him a lesson in how women SHOULD be treated. I personally would enjoy it immensely knocking that smug-ass smirk off his face too.
It really is quite pathetic that John Q. Law would release his sorry ass. Then condemn someone who smokes a little reefer and doesn’t hurt anyone. Our system is so messed up. Feedback appreciated and have a nice day.
Now look at this guy, isn’t he tough, he likes to beat up girls. He should try out for the UFC, maybe he could train with Ronda Rousey. I wonder if the county has ever heard of garnishing wages….
There have to be wages to garnish. Yes people who owe fines should get a job but some people don’t work. The Legislature and Supreme Court have a fine collection scheme. Read the law, you may learn something.
Sorry, no where in the article did I read that he didn’t have a job. He must be doing something to survive, maybe LVS is right. Yes, the low lifes can break all the laws they want, knowing that nothing really drastic will happen to them, all the while the working person has to pay. Can you elaborate on the, fine collection scheme, that the Legislature and Supreme Court have, I’m just a sidewalk lawyer and I’m not going to take what little time I have left to read about something that I’ve paid other people to handle.
@Allen-you can’t garnish wages if he doesn’t have a job. That is why most of these people don’t care. They know there is nothing that will be done to them. The last I heard they don’t have to report selling drugs as income.
