CLIVE – Iowa cops have been hunting suspects they say snatched an 80-year-old woman’s purse while she was shopping, and now they claim they have identified three women involved – all the way down in Tennessee.
Back on December 6, 2024, Clive, Iowa police received a report of an elderly woman whose purse was stolen while shopping at a department store. The suspects, police say, immediately used the victim’s credit cards for purchases. The women were last seen driving a dark-colored Jeep Wagoneer with unknown temporary dealer tags.
The Clive police department later informed that “leads have led us to the Memphis, Tennessee area. If you have any friends in that area please share (photos of suspects, below) with them. We really want to make an identification on these criminals that victimized an Iowa citizen.”
On Monday, January 13, 2025, Clive police provided another update.
“After following up on leads provided by retail stores where the victim’s stolen credit cards were used, three Memphis women were identified, and arrest warrants for theft and money laundering were issued.” The suspects appear to still be on the loose: 46-year-old Willie Mae Perkins, 46-year-old Herlana Brewer, and 33-year-old Kandice Watkins. All three are from the Memphis, Tennessee area.
