Steven Jay Slothouber, 66, of Mason City, passed away from cancer on Saturday December 21st, 2024 at MercyOne Iowa Medical Center. He was surrounded by his two daughters and ex-wife as he passed away peacefully. Steve was born on July 4, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Georgia and John Slothouber. Steve lived life on the edge. He was a very carefree spirit. In his younger years, Steve, would hop on a motorcycle and would ride around Minneapolis. As he got older, he loved bike riding all over Minneapolis and later in Mason City. He had a passion for working on cars. If you had a problem with your vehicle, he was the first one to say, “Let me look at your car!”. He adored his grandkids and showed love in his own way to both his daughters. He had a love for dogs. Steve also loved music and playing the drums. He is preceded in death by his father John Slothouber, two sisters (Sara Slothouber and his sister Wendy). He is survived by his mother Georgia Slothouber, his two daughters Stefanie Slothouber (grandson Ashton Lemke) and Nichole Slothouber (granddaughter Miley Slothouber), brother (David Slothouber), sister Delrae Eden and sister Gail and survived by nephews and a niece.
A celebration of life for Steve will be held at a later date in Minneapolis.
