Clear Lake man accused of burglary by credit card in Forest City

FOREST CITY – Clear Lake man already in jail in Mason City on numerous charges is accused of felony burglary by credit card in Forest City.

Forest City police report that on September 7, 2016 at about 1:17 AM, Ronald Benjamin Bakkum, age 48 of Clear Lake, was arrested and charged with Third Degree Burglary and Theft by Credit Card. The charges are a result of an investigation into the illegal use of a debit card on August 2, 2016 at Casey’s General Store in Forest City.

Also at this time, Bakkum is facing felony drug charges brought by Clear Lake police and Mason City police. He is also facing felony car burglary and fraud charges in Hancock county. He was brought to the Cerro Gordo county jail on warrants connected to these crimes back on September 27 and remains held there as he awaits court hearings.
