Three Maryland men charged in transportation of marijuana

iowa dept of public safetyADAIR, IOWA – On July 31, 2013 Iowa State Troopers discovered marijuana during a traffic stop.

A State Trooper discovered more than 50 pounds of marijuana following a stop for a traffic violation in Adair County along Interstate 80, just after 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.   After approaching the vehicle to address the traffic violation, the State Trooper smelled the odor of marijuana and asked the driver if he had marijuana in the vehicle.  The driver, John Fell, age 22 from Quincy, Maryland admitted to possessing marijuana.

The Trooper discovered more than 50 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.  The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of:

John Fell, age 22, Quincy, Maryland

  • Possess of Marijuana with intent to Deliver
  • Failure to affix Drug Tax Stamp
  • Prohibited Acts

Kevin Ciardi, age 22, Weymouth, Maryland

  • Conspiracy to commit a felony by delivering more than 50 pounds of marijuana

Adam Salhaney, age 23, Weymouth, Maryland

  • Conspiracy to commit a felony by delivering more than 50 pounds of marijuana

Citations and Complaints

State Troopers continue to participate in the investigation with the assistance of the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
