FAYETTE COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man who appears to possibly be conducting his own mini crime spree was nabbed after he refused to pull over, this time allegedly intoxicated and driving recklessly.
On August 2, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM, a Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy was conducting an investigation in the city of Maynard. During the investigation the deputy observed a male, who was known to the Deputy as not being valid to drive, driving. The suspect was directed to pull over and then fled in his vehicle. After a pursuit, 25-year-old Joseph Kane (pictured at top) of Maynard was arrested and charged with:
– Eluding (serious misdemeanor)
– Operating While Intoxicated (serious misdemeanor)
– Violation of a No-Contact Order (simple misdemeanor)
– Driving While License Revoked (simple misdemeanor)
– Interference With Official Acts (simple misdemeanor)
– Reckless Driving (simple misdemeanor)
Kane was taken into custody, transported to Fayette County Jail, where he was later released on a $400 bond.
Kane’s most recent issues began on June 8, when cops raided his house and found illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia.
Then, on July 19, cops went back to the same house. During the execution methamphetamine, marijuana, and multiple firearms were found and seized. Suspect was quickly released, again.
Then, on the evening of July 22, 2024, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in Maynard. Upon investigation, Kane was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault—First Offense.
