North Iowa man jailed on felony criminal mischief charge

CEDAR RAPIDS – A Mason City man is behind bars at this time, accused of felony criminal mischief and other crimes.

Chad Anthony Teslik, a former Winnebago employee said to live in Mason City, was jailed in Mason City back in April on an arrest warrant out of Linn county. He was held there until June 22, when the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Teslik, age 36, at the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Teslik was taken into custody and transported to Bremer County on a warrant for theft in the third degree. He will be arraigned on that charge on August 16.

Soon thereafter, he was taken to the Linn county jail, where he remains held on a felony charge of second-degree criminal mischief for a crime he allegedly committed back in July of 2015. Also in Linn county, Teslik is facing several theft charges, including two felony counts, for crimes he allegedly committed back in 2015. He has entered a guilty plea and awaits sentencing on August 23.

Teslik was convicted of domestic abuse assault in Linn county back in 2012 after a number of previous arrests for that crime, as well as other pervious felonies including burglary, which landed him in Iowa prisons. He had his citizenship restored in 2010.

In June of this year, Teslik was guilty of third-degree theft and driving while barred in Cerro Gordo county and was sentenced to 60 days in jail and ordered to pay $291.00 and $943.75, respectively, in fines and court fees in those cases.
