MASON CITY – Burglary. Theft. High speed chase. Meth. A judge said enough’s enough for a Mason City woman with a long rap sheet.
Sara Jean Ramon, age 25, is in the county jail awaiting transport to prison. Ramon was found guilty for a third time of violating her probation in a felony burglary case for her participation in a crime back in March of 2012. She and four other people raided a Mason City house and were caught right away by cops.
Ramon was given probation as part of a deferred judgement in that burglary case, but her continued run-ins with the law were enough for judge Annette Boehlje to send Ramon to prison for up to 5 years. She has been accused of this latest probation violation all the way back in August of 2015, and a series of delays and legal tactics had staved off a decision, which finally came on March 2.
Ramon will likely be processed and then end up in the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville, Iowa, where late last month, a melee broke out and several staff there were injured.
