MASON CITY – Burglary. Theft. High speed chase. Meth. A judge said enough’s enough for a Mason City woman with a long rap sheet.

Sara Jean Ramon, age 25, is in the county jail awaiting transport to prison. Ramon was found guilty for a third time of violating her probation in a felony burglary case for her participation in a crime back in March of 2012.  She and four other people raided a Mason City house and were caught right away by cops.

Ramon was given probation as part of a deferred judgement in that burglary case, but her continued run-ins with the law were enough for judge Annette Boehlje to send Ramon to prison for up to 5 years.  She has been accused of this latest probation violation all the way back in August of 2015, and a series of delays and legal tactics had staved off a decision, which finally came on March 2.

Ramon will likely be processed and then end up in the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville, Iowa, where late last month, a melee broke out and several staff there were injured.

Ramon, Sara

How can Mason City break the generational cycle? For starters, Judges could disregard family criminal history when thinking up their sentences. 90% more likely to do a stint in prison if your family members are felons also.

man I sure wish all judges would send these dirt bags packing after their 3rd strike or after they break their probation rules. It might sink in their brainless heads that “Hey I cant keep f**King up and stay out of jail” I got to follow the rules, get a job and pay for my mistakes not blame some one for my f**kups. Man people and pull your head out.

If Trumps not the next president you also might prefer security and lodging in one of our countries largest businesses – incarceration – lots of money to be made in that field.
