MASON CITY – Local law enforcement has taken two wanted Mason City residents into custody following a high speed chase through Cerro Gordo County in the early morning hours.

Shortly before midnight on January 1st law enforcement attempted to make a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Michael Jon Bush. Instead of stopping Bush again attempted elude law enforcement as he did in February 2011 and again in November 2012. The pursuit went through various areas of Cerro Gordo County before officers were able to bring Bush’s vehicle to a stop.

Bush had been wanted on an outstanding parole violation warrant issued in November in relation to his conviction for distribution of methamphetamine in Worth County. Bush was also wanted for failing to appear to court on December 14th on an interference with official acts charge related to the November 2012 chase in which his arm was broken in a foot chase with local law enforcement.

Following the arrest in November, 1st Call Bail Bonds posted his bond, but was unable to secure his appearance for the later court date. It is unclear why he was able to bond out of jail with an active no bond parole violation arrest warrant at that time.

In addition to the two outstanding warrants Bush was charged with numerous other crimes following his 3rd police chase in the past year including:

One serious misdemeanor count of Possession of Methamphetamine.

One serious misdemeanor count of Possession of Marijuana.

One serious misdemeanor count of Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs.

One serious misdemeanor count of Eluding Law Enforcement Vehicles.

One serious misdemeanor count of Driving While Suspended.

One simple misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

One simple misdemeanor count of interference with Official Acts.

One simple misdemeanor count of Failure to Obey Stop or Yield Sign.

One simple misdemeanor count of Failure to File SR-22 Insurance.

One simple misdemeanor count of Speeding.

One simple misdemeanor count Littering Upon Highway.

The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Sara Jean Ramon, was booked into jail after being in police custody for over two and half hours after Bush was detained in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Ramon had been wanted for violating pre-trial release on November 13th, 2012 in a 3rd Degree Burglary charge in which Ramon and four other individuals were caught by Mason City police still inside a house while burglarizing it. Three of the accomplices in the burglary have been convicted, and charges against co-defendant Michael Frazer were dropped after he was charged federally with distribution of methamphetamine.

Michael Bush’s Facebook page includes much of the criminal element of Mason City. The last post on his wall is from a Laura Best saying, “Happy running………I mean Happy New Years Bushy Boy!” Incidentally Laura Best’s brother Travis Best is currently wanted on a Cerro Gordo County warrant along with her boyfriend Justin Venard. Frank Mosher who currently appears on Mason City’s Most Wanted also appears on Bush’s Facebook wall to complain about “snitching” about a stolen motorcycle.

Bush remains in the Cerro Gordo County Jail with no bond. Ramon is being held on a $5,000 bond pending sentencing for the 3rd Degree Burglary Charge.

@Anon-again, what has your post got to do with this article. This is not the forum for bashing Matt. I am not a cricket as you claim but, I do have my own likes and dislikes and I will leave it up to you where you fall in that. I also think for myself and if I don’t like your comments I will let you know. I am sure that is OK with you isn’t it. How and where I spend my time is none of your business and you wouldn’t be so worried about it if you had a life of your own.

@Anon-what has your post got to do with this article. If you have a complaint against Matt why don’t you e-mail him or call him with. Oh, that’s right, then he would know who you are. It is much safer to sit out here an snipe at him through unrelated articles. Again, if you don’t like N.I.T. stay off it and leave for those of us who do. You certainly will not be missed.

Well LVS cricket….I didn’t bring up the subject in the 1st place and I didn’t say I didn’t like NIT. I asked about the succcess Matt bosted about. And with Matts hostle attitude a person would have to be crazy to use their name. He’d probably jump them in public and bring up some irrelevent act that happened 10 yrs. ago. That’s his style not mine fault.
And you must spend lots of time sitting at the computer glued to NIT or you wouldn’t have caught my post. Maybe YOU need to get a life. Does Matt know you
“speak for him”? He says he speaks for himself…Now what was my question? Oh yeah….the taxes paid on a site such as this one. Just trying to keep things
“honest”. Not sneaky like the “glob, Robin & council” as you claim.

@anon, my personal business is no one’s but mine. If you want to make personal attacks against me and level veiled accusations against me, that’s fine, but you will need to do it using your real name. Then we can go toe to toe. Otherwise, stay on topic and comment on the stories posted here.

@Matt since you own NIT, and set any agreement of use to use NIT. why not simply print peoples IP address if there is a problem or request? You did that once some time ago. not sure how much effort it really takes to figure out a persons real name or address. but I would sure like to know the real name of one person that deliberately lied to readers of NIT.

Because Matt has a horrible page. He is broke and has lousy writing. Just look at all the ads on the right side of the page. Not worth registering again.

Maybe he can file bankruptcy and start charging 6.95 a month for old stories like the Globe. They just had breaking news about the Hanlontown Councilman getting convicted of domestic assault. Kinda like the story Matt ran 2 weeks age.

Where are the ads supposed to be? I’m sure businesses advertise on NIT because they know that their ads will be viewed by the many that DO like the site.

This is the best joke I have read all day. Another jealous, anonymous loser who is mad that NIT is a huge success. Thanks for the page views, idiot.

Define “Huge Success.” I’ll define Narcissism.

        nar·cis·sism
        /ˈnärsəˌsizəm/
        Noun
Extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one’s own talents and a craving for admiration.
