MASON CITY – Mason City police are warning of a burglary “spree” now haunting the city, and are seeking clues to catch the culprit even as one business owner offers a reward.
According to Mason City police, between December 29, 2015 through January 3, 2016, four business burglaries were reported involving forced entry.
A police spokesman told NIT that “Cash was taken. The break-ins appear to be similar in nature and are probably related.” He said a warning will soon be issued to the public “about the recent spree” and asking employees at local businesses to review safeguards in place.
The 4 locations were:
– Great Clips 3750 4th ST SW
– Wok N Roll 15 S Delaware
– LD’s Filling Station 620 12th ST NE
– Main Event 112 2nd ST SE
At the Main Event, a brand-new events venue in downtown Mason City, owner Joe Paulsen said that his business was victimized on New Years Day at about 5:00 AM.
Releasing pictures from a security camera, Mr, Paulsen said “Our business The Main Event was broke into by this scumbag! The Wok and Roll next to our business was broke into the same night. If you know who he is, and want to remain anonymous give me a call 641-425-6273. $500 reward if arrested.”
