Wanted suspect caught by Iowa law enforcement after chase

JEFFERSON COUNTY, IOWA – Police in this southeast Iowa county have apprehended a fugitive who pulled a gun on a deputy after a car chase.

Police are reporting that around 3:00 AM Monday, November 24, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy chased 26-year-old Tyler Lind, who was driving a pickup truck and had escaped custody. Lind crashed his truck, and as he exited his vehicle, pulled what is described as a “long gun” on the deputy, who fired at Lind. The suspect then ran into a nearby wooded area, according to reports. He was considered armed and dangerous.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety reported that at approximately 9:15 AM this morning, Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office took Lind into custody. He is no longer at large and there is no danger to the public, they said in a press release.
