MASON CITY – Beginning Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 7:00 a.m., the Mason City Utility Division will begin street repairs on 12th Street NW. The south eastbound lane of 12th Street NW will be closed at North Polk Avenue and North Polk Avenue will be closed from 10th Street NW to 12th Street NW. Traffic on 12th Street NW will be diverted to the center turn lane during construction. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, November 16, 2012.
Expect congestion and delays around this area while the street is under construction. Please watch for construction workers and equipment if you are traveling near the work zone.

This is a very busy street. Why couldn’t they have done this work in the summer time instead of during the holiday season. Poor planning by the city again.
