Charles City man arrested for being drunk on school property

CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City responded to a report of an intoxicated person on school grounds last week and took a man to jail.

On October 16, at about 10:12 AM, officers with the Charles City police department responded to the Charles City High School at the 300 block of Salsbury Avenue after a caller reported a possibly intoxicated individual at that location. Police arrived and discovered 41-year-old Gregory Floyd and placed him under arrest. He was charged with public intoxication and possession of alcohol on school grounds.

Floyd awaits a hearing on October 24.
