MASON CITY – A man was at his wife’s house Sunday evening when police were called for a disturbance.

Mason City police reported that they were called to 32 11th Street NE Sunday evening at about 9:21 PM for a verbal domestic after it was reported that yelling was coming from the residence. The male subject left “for the evening”, according to a police report.  Billings claims he had a conversation with officers before leaving.

The male subject was Jason Billings, a convicted sex offender who has a registered address of 3451 South Federal Avenue, room 18, otherwise known as the Ashley Inn Motel. The house is owned by Melissa Billings, who now goes by the name Melissa Heimbuch. She lives there with her children, whose father is Jason Billings.  It was not immediately clear if Jason Billings lives at the house or at the Ashley Inn, where the state expects him to stay due to his status as a sex offender.  Melissa Billings has previously petitioned Iowa courts for relief from domestic abuse at the hands of Jason Billings.

Billings was convicted in 1994 in Floyd county at the age of 12 for second degree sexual assault against a male child younger than him.
