MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was arrested Monday morning after crashing her car in a ditch while allegedly driving drunk.
Police reported that a Mason City woman, Jennifer Lynn Galkin, age 21, drove her vehicle into a ditch near the Cinema West Theaters – where Galkin claims to be employed – at about 1:33 AM Monday morning.
Police located Galkin’s vehicle and took her into custody. She was charged with second offense operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control. She remained in the Cerro Gordo County Jail Monday, held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
Galkin pled guilty to first offense operating while intoxicated in 2012. Also in 2012, Galkin received a deferred judgement and probation for delivery of marijuana, a class D felony. She was supposed to pay $50.00 per month on $832.60 in fines and court costs, but records show she has only paid $150.00, prompting further court action which is on-going.
