HAMPTON – A violent accused meth dealer was caught by Hampton police Monday, but not before he allegedly struck the arresting officer.
Landon Gabriel Martin, no permanent address, was wanted since last December in Cerro Gordo county on two charges of felony C delivery of methamphetamine. A Hampton police officer encountered Martin on Manday, March 31, and attempted to arrest him, Chief Robert Schaefer told NIT, when Martin struck the officer. The officer was able to subdue Martin and take him into custody. He was found to have in his possession methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Martin was taken to jail and booked.
Martin pleaded guilty last year in Cerro Gordo county to felony assault causing injury, but never showed up to be sentenced. A judge issued an warrant for his arrest in that case as well. He also pleaded guilty in 2013 to another charge of assault and spent 14 days in jail.
