MASON CITY – A wanted North End man was taken to jail after refusing to stop his vehicle when police ordered him to do so.

According to Mason City police, an officer observed a wanted subject – Alberto Salazar Ramon, age 45 – driving a vehicle. Ramon did not stop for police who were behind him, using flashing lights and more, for a short distance. Police said his speeds “were not excessive”. Up to six Mason City police officers were involved when the officer finally stopped Ramon and arrested him on five warrants and also for drug and traffic charges, including failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving with a suspended license, and driving under suspension.

Ramon was wanted on warrants related to a felony criminal mischief charge and four alleged violations of no-contact orders. He remains jailed Monday on multiple bond amounts as he awaits a court date at the end of the month.
