ALGONA – Two North Iowa residents were arrested on child endangerment charges this week.
Thomas Vanderplaats, age 27, and Stacie Hurlburt, age 42, both of Swea City in rural Kossuth county, were arrested on December 31st by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department. Both were charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
No further details on the alleged crime were released by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office.
Both Hurlbert and Vanderplaats posted an unknown bond amount and were released from jail pending a court hearing on January 15th.
Vanderplaats was found guilty of interference with official acts in October of 2013. He owes Iowa courts $366.53 in costs, fines and charges in that case. He plead guilty to the same crime in 2008.
