CEDAR RAPIDS – Alliant Energy scored favorably on the most recent Corporate Equality Index (CEI). CEI is a national benchmarking survey that assesses corporate policies and practices relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality.
Alliant Energy received 85 of a possible 100 points on the 2014 version of the survey. That places the company in the top third in the energy/utility sector. Alliant Energy’s score reflects its ongoing LGBT workplace equality efforts, including employment policies, health benefits, and company practices.
“Every employee contributes a unique perspective and that enhances our ability to provide excellent customer service,” said Anne Carter, director of diversity and inclusion at Alliant Energy. “Participating in the Corporate Equality Index is one of the ways we demonstrate support for our LGBT employees and continue to pursue an inclusive environment for the entire company.”
CEI is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Their 2014 report rated 931 businesses nationally.
