MCPD seeks former county computer man accused of abuse, stalking

MASON CITY – Police are seeking help from the public in locating a former Cerro Gordo County MIS director who is accused of domestic assault and felony stalking and who now has a warrant out for his arrest.

Police are now searching for Scott Alan Tepner, age 45, they said today. Tepner has allegedly violated a no-contact order numerous times, imposed by a judge to protect the alleged victim.

According to Mason City police, “the protected party reported that from June 28, 2013 to July 24,2013, Tepner has either driven out of his way to go by her house and / or follow her around town. This has allegedly occurred multiple times. The latest violation was said to have occurred September 5th.”

Police are asking that anyone who knows of the location of Scott Alan Tepner to please call the MCPD at 641-421-3636.

This is news worthy because this woman’s life is in danger. Duh.

Get a clue – check the warrant list – the only reason it is making the news is because his name. KIMT and the Globe didn’t even bother to say he was released on the 5pm news. They need to focus on the drug dealers and pedophiles – they need to be locked up – put their mug shots on the front page!

Yes, agreed, drug dealers and pedophiles do need to be locked up. This man has mulitiple violations of a no contact order that originated from a domestic assault charge. Didnt some woman in Northwood just get murdered by a guy demonstrating some of these same qualities. He is dangerous-I don’t care what his name is…

At last count, there are 2009 outstanding warrants in Cerro Gordo County, many for much worse than a NCO violation. Is this really worthy of a press release?

There are hundred of warrant outstanding per the sheriff’s website. Why don’t the police ask for the public’s help in locating all of them by name?
