MASON CITY – Shortly before 7:00 am Sunday morning, Mason City Police responded to a call of an assault in the vicinity of 8th Street and North Carolina Avenue.
A female could be heard crying in the background as officers searched the area of the 700 and 800 block of N. Carolina.
Jordan Nicholas Pohlman, age 21, was arrested on Bullis Court and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and booked for serious domestic assault.
Pohlman has other charges pending from an incident that occurred on October 18, 2012. He was charged with a class D felony controlled substance violation. Court records show Pohlman allegedly had marijuana in his possession at a park with intent to deliver. Ā That case is still in court.
Pohlman was given a deferred judgment inĀ a third degree burglary case in 2009 but later violated the terms of his probation.Ā Judge Colleen Weiland allowed Pohlman to escape a felony charge of escape of a felon and Pohlman was instead found guilty of voluntary absence, a serious misdemeanor.
Pohlman has been out on bond since November 5th awaiting a court date to face charges brought by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony.
Pohlman owes the courts thousands in unpaid fines and fees from a range of cases within the last few years.
