MASON CITY -The Mason City Parks Board will meet Tuesday evening at a new location.
The meeting will be held at the new offices of the Recreation Department, at 710 North Washington Avenue, the former Washington School. The meeting begins at the regular time of 6 PM.
Prior to the board meeting, an open house will be held for the public to tour the new home of the Recreation Department. The department was formerly housed at Mohawk Square. Even after the costs of renovation, the move to the new location will save the city money in rent and utilities once they are fully settled in.
The following is the Parks Board meeting agenda. Of note, the sledding hill project will be discussed. Also, Highland Park Advisory Board may ask the Park Board to have discussion about building a new cart shed. In it’s October meeting minutes, the Highland Advisory Board said “This would be a huge drawing card for our course. The shed that holds the city rental carts at this time needs to be demolished.” In addition, the Advisory Board may ask the Park Board to discuss using CIP funds or budget to replace the current asphalt in the front area of the club house.
