What’s opening in theaters next week

By Rene Rodriguez, McClatchy Newspapers –

THE INTOUCHABLES (R): Acclaimed drama from Belgium centers on the relationship between a quadriplegic (François Cluzet) and the young man (Omar Sy) he hires as his caretaker.

PIRANHA 3DD (R): Long-delayed sequel to Alexandre Aja’s savage horror comedy “Piranha 3D.” Christopher Lloyd and Ving Rhames return for more fun in the surf with the carnivorous fish. Aja, however, does not. Distributor Dimension Films foolishly opted not to screen the first movie for critics, and they’re hiding this one, too. Something smells fishy.

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN (PG-13): “Mirror Mirror” took a whimsical, family-friendly approach to the Snow White fairy tale. Director Rupert Sanders’ twist is much darker and brutal. Kristen Stewart is the young beauty on the run from the huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) tasked by the vain queen (Charlize Theron) to bring back Snow’s heart on a plate. Who’s the meanest of them all?
