GED Accelerated Math and Writing Academy to be offered

North Iowa Area Community College is offering an accelerated GED Math and Writing Academy on the NIACC campus.

“The Academy is for people who want to concentrate on these two subjects in order to obtain their GED,” said Mary Schultz, Adult Literacy Coordinator at NIACC.  “For most GED students these are the two most difficult courses.”

The Academy is designed so that students begin with two hours of math instruction followed by a 30-minute break, and then two hours of writing instruction.  The structured curriculum begins with the basic building blocks of math and writing and quickly accelerates to an advanced level.

Students will take a GED Official Practice Test and GED test as part of the curriculum.

The course will be offered May 29t through June 13, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students must commit to daily attendance and complete both components.

For more information and to register, please call Heather McCleary at NIACC 641-422-4278.
