FORT DODGE – The NIACC women’s basketball team was knocked out of the Region XI Tournament after 94-50 loss to Iowa Central on Tuesday night.
The Trojans ended the season with a 12-19 record overall and a 4-12 record in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).
Iowa Central (26-5, 10-4 in the ICCAC) broke the game open in the second half with a 23-6 run to make it 38-21 at halftime. The Tritons continued their offensive streak by outscoring the Trojans 56-29 in the second half.
Kika Greenlee (Fr., Saint Louis Park, MN) led the Trojans with 24 points and Sadie Pittman (So., Cape Girardeau, MO) added 10 points in her final game as a Trojan.
Outside of Pittman, sophomores Brittany Robinson (Shellsburg, IA), Jennifer Nelsen (Mason City, IA), and Jenna Morris (Radcliffe, IA) all played their final game for NIACC.
Iowa Central was led by Mika Rodewald with 31 points and Alison Nagel with 24. The Tritons will move on to play Southeastern in the Region XI semifinals.
