Family and friends gathered together Friday night in Central Park for a little free fun.
The Jon Hepperly Band, featuring Nina Hepperly, played in Central Park from 6pm to 10pm. They played and sang a wide variety of songs from Country to Rock and Roll. People were dancing to Elvis, Patsy Cline, VanHalen, Roy Orbinson and George Strait. That’s just to name a few. Every song they sang just made you feel like cutting loose and start dancing.
I had a few videos of the band playing songs like Crazy and Wipeout, but on request of Jon Hepperly, I didn’t post them. “Sometimes the audio doesn’t sound quite right. We are in the process of getting a video made and your video would be linked to us. I’d appreciate the videos not being posted,” explained Jon. That is quite understandable.
Nina, Lead Female Vocals, was a nice lady with a beautiful voice that made your head turn to see who was singing. I complimented her on the song, Stand by Your Man, and she said, “They forgot the last part, the part where I had to sing the high notes. That’s okay though,” she added with a grin. “Jon is my son and Justin is my grandson. Justin plays the drums and lead guitar sometimes.”
The kids were enjoying dancing in the streets and being with their families. Parents were dancing with their children, eating popcorn and just enjoying the beautiful night in the park. They were kicking back in their choice of lawn chair and relaxing. The temperature was perfect, no biting insects and the music was great.
Many smiles for a perfect night in the park.
On the south side and part of the east side of the park, a Classic Car Show was going on. There were food vendors and a beer tent.
