CHARLES CITY – The Floyd County Board of Supervisors approved several routine items May 5 and heard a presentation on Iowa’s restructured Behavioral Health System.
Supervisors Gloria Carr, Boyd Campbell and Frank Rottinghaus met at 9 a.m. in the Floyd County Courthouse Board Room. The board approved the agenda, the April 28 meeting minutes and county and engineer claims on 3-0 votes. No public comments were made.
The board approved paying a $751.42 invoice from Ahlers & Cooney for judicial review of an Iowa Utilities Commission permit. Supervisors also approved an application to use the courthouse grounds to display a Floyd County Fair sign and approved the Floyd County Fair liquor license renewal application.
The board noted the hiring of Austin Walk as conservation natural resource manager at a rate of $26.44 per hour, effective May 11.
During the meeting, Sarah Janssen, Ashley Marciniak and Jane Larkin, representing the Iowa Primary Care Association, gave supervisors an overview of Iowa’s restructured Behavioral Health System, which went live July 1, 2025. The presentation covered changes from the restructuring, system operations, Iowa PCA services, funding, billing and invoicing, Iowa Health and Human Services support, available resources and the System Navigation program available to Iowans.
Carr reported attending Iowa Workforce Development and Iowa Workforce Development merger committee meetings.
Future agenda items listed by the board included Drainage District #3 spraying, the AMR contract and an FY26 budget amendment hearing.
