Joan Delores Snyder, 61, of Mason City, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed towards the family of Joan Snyder.
Joan was born on January 29, 1964, to parents Boyd and Delores (Borchardt) Suby in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from Forest City High School in 1983. She then went on to attend Capri College for cosmetology. Joan held a few different jobs over the years but the one she loved most was getting to stay home and raise her children.
Joan was united in marriage to Jeff Snyder on August 26th, 1995, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City. To this union 3 children were born, Katelyn, Tyler, and John.
Joan loved baking and cooking; she also loved gardening and taking care of the various plants that she had. She seemed to make anything grow with her green thumb. She had a love for horses and unicorns. She adored her time with her coffee crew at McDonalds every day. She loved to crack jokes and chat with just about anybody. Joan was a very kind and caring person and cared about her friends and family deeply and she loved spending time with them whenever she could. She will be remembered for the kindness and care she gave to everyone.
Joan is survived by her husband Jeff, Daughter Katelyn of Clear Lake IA and sons Tyler of Meservey IA and John of Rockwell City IA, Sisters Cindy (Kevin) Bidne of Fertile IA and Jean Leraaen of Mason City, niece and nephew Katie and Adam
Joan is preceded in death by her parents Boyd and Delores, sister Peggy (in infancy) and sister Rochelle.
