MASON CITY – The Lime Creek Nature Center and Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board are sponsoring two “Middle School Adventure” days this summer for children entering 7th & 8th grade.
“Floating and Fishing” will be held on Tuesday, July 15 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Participants will enjoy a morning of canoeing and fishing on the Lime Creek Nature Center’s scenic Quarry Lake. All canoeing equipment will be provided; as will fishing equipment for those that need it.
“Biking and GPS Challenge” will be held on Thursday, July 17 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Wilkinson Park near Rock Falls. Participants will enjoy a morning of biking and geocaching fun with a 6 mile bike ride along the Shellrock River Greenbelt and a “treasure hunt” utilizing handheld GPS units (provided).
The cost for each adventure is $5.00 for members and $10 for non-members, which includes lunch. Registration is required by Friday, July 11 and space is limited. Please call 423-5309 to register or for more information.
