College Football: Iowa State trounces BYU, 45-13

PROVO, UTAH – Iowa State got up big early on BYU and never let the Cougars into game, winning 45-13 Saturday night out west.

Iowa State built an early lead and was up big by the half against BYU in this game, with plenty of scoring by the offense. The Cyclones (6-4, 5-2 Big 12) scored early and often as QB Rocco Becht threw for two scores.

BYU (5-5 , 2-5) only managed a first quarter touchdown. Early turnovers doomed the Cougars and gave the Cyclones great field position.

Iowa State will be at home versus Texas on Saturday for a night game, televised on FOX. This is the last hoem game of the season, as the Cyclones then finish on the road at Kansas State.

*His 59-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter was the longest of his career and the longest rushing touchdown by ISU since Breece Hall against TCU in 2021 (80 yards).
*Tallied his first career 100-yard rushing game.
*First ISU running back with a 100-yard rushing game since Jirehl Brock against Iowa last season.
*First Cyclone freshman with a 100-yard rushing game since Breece Hall against Texas in 2021. *Tied his career high for carries with eight.
Jaylin Noel
*Made his 20th career start.
*Has caught a pass in 29-straight games, the fifth-longest streak in school history.
*His 66-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter was the longest of his career.
*Caught two touchdown passes, tying his career high (Texas – 2022).

Jarrod Hufford
