Sharon Louise (Stickney) Bonjour, 80, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away June 23, 2023, in Mason City.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, Iowa 50401. Burial will take place at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, June 30, 2023, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel.
Sharon was born March 5, 1943 to Jess T Stickney and Louise (Abbott) Stickney in Mason City. Sharon graduated from Nora Springs Rockfalls School in 1961. She excelled in 6 by 6 girls basketball. She won the sectional free throw championship; was on the first team corn bowl conference and was an honorable mention in the Des Moines Register Sports Section.
Sharon was married to Walter Bonjour on November 10, 1972, in Mason City. Her hobbies included camping, baking cookies, crossword puzzles and playing 500.
Sharon is survived by her children, Daniel Walter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Douglas (Sheila) Bonjour of Lancaster, South Carolina, Bruce (Diane) Bonjour of Mason City, and Blain Bonjour of Colonial Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Brandy Bonjour, Kady Elledge, Marshall Calvert, Logan (Marianne) Bonjour, Mellissa (David) Hedge, Leslie (Michael Payn) Bonjour and Steven Bonjour; 9 wonderful great-grandchildren; and sisters, Clara (Walt) and Dianna (Spence) Weaver.
Sharon was preceded in death by the love of her life, Walt Bonjour; daughter, Denise; siblings, Jess Jr, Jerry (Bonnie), Darlene (Wesley), Dixie Cain; and 8 brothers and sisters in law; and parents, Jess and Louise.
