Iowa child molester dies in prison

IOWA CITY – A convicted Iowa child molester died in prison.

Lloyd Harlan Schlumbohm was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 6:41 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Schlumbohm was 75 years old at the time of his death.

Schlumbohm had been serving a 10-year maximum term for the crime of Sex Abuse 3rd from Sioux County. His sentence began on April 25, 2018.

Reportedly, authorities were alerted that Schlumbohm had committed a sexual assault six years earlier in Sioux County, on a child. Schlumbohm confessed. It was revealed by investigation he had committed multiple sexual acts with that child.
