WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) on Tuesday announced Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants totaling more than $77,000 for crime prevention efforts in Marshalltown, Dubuque and Linn County.
The grants may be used for a wide range of law enforcement initiatives including policing, prosecution and court programs, crime prevention and education, community corrections programs, drug treatment and enforcement programs, crime victim services and mental health programming, among others.
The grant recipients and awards are as follows:
- Linn County Sheriffs Office: $42,098
- The City of Dubuque: $19,563
- The City of Marshalltown: $16,027
“These grants provide welcome resources for local law enforcement to respond to the needs of our communities and ensure public safety and access to justice,” Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer said. “It’s important that our communities and law enforcement have the right kind of support to protect and serve all Iowans.”
