EMMET COUNTY – A moose continues to wander throughout Northern Iowa, and authorities say avoid it.
The Emmet county sheriff says that on September 29, 2023, a moose was spotted in the 4700 block of Highway 9 in Emmet County.
“While it is unusual for a moose to be seen in Northern Iowa, it does occur from time to time,” the sheriff said. “The public is asked to not approach this moose as it travels through the area as they can sometimes be aggressive if they feel threatened by people, dogs or traffic. Due to their size if they do become threatened, they can become dangerous to people and property.
If you do encounter this moose, please give it plenty of space and contact authorities.
