DUBUQUE – Grabbing another person’s arm is viewed as an illegal assault in Iowa (except, apparently, in Mason City) and this was again upheld over the weekend in Dubuque, Iowa.
According to police, on July 29, 2018, at approximately 7 PM, a 21-year-old Dubuque female was running on S. Grandview near Randall Pl. when she was approached by a male subject who tried to engage her in conversation. The male subject, later identified as Greg Thomas Langel, 22, of Dubuque, grabbed the female victim’s arm when she refused to give him her phone number. She was able to pull her arm away and kicked Langel when he tried to grab her again.
Traffic cameras were reviewed and a suspicious vehicle was observed in the area. The vehicle was registered to Langel and Langel was located and interviewed. Langel made limited admissions about the incident. Langel was charged with simple Assault and was arrested on that warrant today.
