MINNEAPOLIS – Former Mason City Mohawk Mackenzie Meyer made her return to the Iowa lineup after injury, but her two steals weren’t enough for the Hawkeyes, who lost to Minnesota 77-72 Sunday in a Big Ten conference road game.

Sophomore Makenzie Meyer made her return to the starting lineup after missing six games with a broken bone in her left hand. She registered a career-high two steals. She was just 1-for-8 from the field and scored 4 points in 40 minutes of action.

Three players scored in double figures for the #20 Hawkeyes. They include: Kathleen Doyle (21), Megan Gustafson (20), and Hannah Stewart (12).

Junior Megan Gustafson registered her 19th double-double of the season (20 points, 10 rebounds). It is the 46th double-double of her career.

just like back in the dean oliver days, its a one man team til that one man is injuried, then the coaches find out they have more then that “one” man team and let some of the other qualified play and show what they can do.
