CHARLES CITY – A man who spent time in an Iowa prison was arrested for felony domestic abuse assault in Charles City.
On August 7, 2017 at about 8:41 PM, officers with the Charles City police department encountered 26-year-old Tyrecas Matlock in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. They arrested him on a charge of felony D third-offense domestic abuse assault. He was taken to jail that night and remains held there. Matlock was appointed a public defender. A no-contact order has been set in the case by a judge, but a person named Pinkie Collett filed a motion to have it dropped.
A court date has been set for August 23.
Court records show that in 2014, Matlock was sent to an Iowa prison in connection to a felony drug charge out of Black Hawk county, where he has been accused of numerous crimes, including domestic abuse assault; harassing an officer, contempt of court, and disorderly conduct (obstructing a public roadway).
