RURAL MASON CITY – Around 6:00 AM Thursday morning, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Deputy’s were investigating a red Dodge Ram pick-up that was abandoned in the ditch across from 10831 Lark Avenue.
According to a Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s officer, “It was a single vehicle accident and the truck is registered in Franklin County. Franklin County has been notified and is aware of the owner.” Apparently the owner has other issues pending in that county.
According to Sheriff Kevin Pals, the owner of the truck is from Franklin County.
“We believe the driver in this accident is someone else (not the owner) and we have citations for that person when they come to pick the truck up.”
The truck was towed into Mason City by Affordable Towing.
