BREMER COUNTY, IOWA – A Nashua woman is lucky to have avoided a much more serious outcome after a trucker changed lanes, clipped her car and sent it spinning out of control.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, on August 9 around 12:45 PM, 41-year-old Jennifer Snitker of Nashua was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix in the northbound lanes of Highway 218 near the 210 mile marker in Bremer county when a northbound semi truck attempted to make a lane change from left lane to right lane. The 2006 Peterbuilt semi truck clipped the rear of the Grand Prix, causing it to spin out of control and come to rest on the east shoulder of the highway.
As a result, Snitker was taken by private vehicle to a Waverly hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The driver of the semi, 52-year-old Ryan Hoeg of Hootland, Iowa, was cited for improper lane change. Previously in Iowa, Hoeg has been cited for other violations such as speeding and failure to obey a stop sign.
