MASON CITY – The Humane Society of North Iowa recently held its annual Bark in the Park fundraiser at Lime CreekNature Center in Mason City. The event included a bake sale, concession stand, guest speaker, and pet contests. Participants brought their dogs to the event to enjoy all the festivities.
Registrants were encouraged to solicit sponsors to pledge monetary support to the Humane Society of North Iowa for their participation in the event. The person raising the most money received a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart.
The winner of the Wal-Mart gift card was Rosalie Anderson, of Mason City, who raised $300.00. Runners-up included: Joey Paulsen, of Forest City, who raised $187.00 and Brittany Seidel, of Mason City, who raised $170.00
The Humane Society of North Iowa is a non-profit organization that serves a 9 county area in North Iowa and operates a no-kill rescue animal shelter in Mason City. In the past 25 years, HSNI has found loving homes for over 8000 abandoned, displaced, and neglected animals.
