CHARLES CITY – A Charles City sex offender allegedly committed another sex crime and was taken to jail.
Robert Mannetter, age 28, was arrested by Charles City police on July 28 at about 8:47 PM in the 500 block of 8th Avenue on a valid warrant for third-degree sexual assault, a class C felony. He allegedly committed his crime in Charles City on July 3, 2017.
Mannetter posted cash bond later and was released from jail, pending an August 14 court arraignment. He could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Mannetter, who goes by as many as 6 aliases, was convicted in Floyd county in 2005 of two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse against a female victim or victims. He was only 15 at the time of his crimes, according to iowasexoffender.com.
