The Iowa Alliance for Retired Americans, held their annual convention, July 11, 2012 at the Meadows (Prairie Meadows) in Altoona.
Don Rowan chose not to run for re-election, as the president of the Iowa ARA. Rowan served as president since the organization was founded in 2008.
Jan Laue recently retired from the Iowa Federation of Labor, after 19 years as Secretary Treasurer. Laue took over the presidency on July 11th.
The Iowa Alliance for Retired Americans is a membership representing more than 35,000 senior Iowans made up of union and community retirees. The ARA is active in legislative and political issues.
