MASON CITY – Governor Kim Reynolds will visit Mason City this coming week and present a local bank with a volunteerism award.
On Friday, July 20, 2018, Gov. Reynolds will attend the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees meeting at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City at 10:45 AM. From there, Gov. Reynolds will travel across town to First Citizens Bank, 2601 4th Street Southwest. At 11:30 AM there, she will present the Give Back Iowa Award to bank officers and employees. The Give Back Iowa Challenge is an opportunity for employees who volunteer to receive recognition by tracking and reporting their hours. The Challenge was created in 2015 to promote employer volunteer initiatives for organizations of all sizes across the state. Employers with the highest average number of volunteer hours per employee during the Challenge period will be recognized with a visit by Governor Kim Reynolds or Lt. Governor Adam Gregg to their workplace.
Last year, winners were selected in three categories based on employer size and the highest average number of volunteer hours per employee. First Citizens Bank in Mason City won the “Medium” sized business category in 2017.
