NEW JERSEY – President Donald Trump this morning blasted Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut after the liberal lawmaker appeared on CNN and criticized the President and showed support for the free press.

Richard Blumenthal

Blumenthal was on a CNN talk show Monday morning and took issue with the Trump administration’s enforcement of laws in connection to government leakers and also said the Russia-Trump investigation would make heroes out of the free press when history looks back on the debacle.

In response, President Trump, taking a working vacation in New Jersey, took to Twitter and laid a beating on Blumenthal, typing “Never in U.S.history has anyone lied or defrauded voters like Senator Richard Blumenthal. He told stories about his Vietnam battles and … conquests, how brave he was, and it was all a lie. He cried like a baby and begged for forgiveness like a child.”

It was widely publicized back in 2010 that Blumenthal possibly embellished his military service record during a Senate campaign; he received deferments during the Vietnam War and later joined the marine reserves, but stated he served in Vietnam.  He later apologized for the mis-statements.

  1. Really simple limit the terms of all of these life long politicians like Blumenthal. They are all (both sides left and right) so stuck on protecting their way of life that they don’t even support what normal American people want anymore. Its true Trump is a hard ass and has no tact, but at least his ideas are valid and make sense. Cut taxes for business and individuals, fix health care, make it a fair process to become a legal US citizen, if your not then you should not be here, although there may be some cases that are valid. The list goes on and on. And balance the trade agreements so that we can quit printing money and destroying the future for generations. Do people even understand what the national debt is anymore??

  2. Reminds me of Elizabeth Warren, aka Pochahantas, Hillary Clinton and Lian’ Brian Williams of MSNBC, etc. etc.

    1. To be clear, Blumenthal served in the Marine Reserves during Vietnam. He wasn’t deployed, but he did wear a U.S. Uniform.
And he apologized for his statement.

Trump on the other hand, not only did he not serve, he received a medical deferment for so called” bone spurs”.
Even as he played sports in college but was too afraid of the draft.

Reminds me of Steve King who dropped out of college after three years, once he became ineligible for the draft.
