MASON CITY – A Mason City man is accused of domestic assault involving strangulation in Clear Lake.
Devin Michael Flores, age 22, is accused by Clear Lake police of a domestic assault involving strangulation after an alleged incident on June 6, 2017. After he was appointed a public defender, Flores eventually entered a guilty plea in the case. However, he was accused of violating his pre-trial release, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Responding to a report of a suspicious subject on the afternoon of August 2, Mason City police found and arrested him near North Federal Avenue and 16th Street.
Flores remains in the county jail at this time, awaiting a hearing on his potential plea deal in this case.
Flores was caught stealing after Mason City police were dispatched on a theft report to 14 South Adams Avenue on the afternoon of November 6, 2016. He was arrested without incident on a charge of fifth-degree theft. The stolen property was returned to the rightful owners, police say. He later pled guilty in that case and was ordered to pay $411.87 in fines and court fees.
