RURAL WINNEBAGO COUNTY, IOWA – One person died in an ATV accident Saturday afternoon in Winnebago county.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Saturday, April 8 around 4:13 PM south of 350th Street on 100th Avenue.
A person riding a 2016 Polaris Ranger was turning left onto 100th Avenue from a private driveway and then lost control of the vehicle and over-corrected. This caused the ATV to roll onto its side, ejecting the driver, who was killed and pronounced dead later when emergency responders arrived.
The name of the deceased was not immediately released, pending notification of family.
Assisting the Iowa State Patrol was Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Crystal Fire/Rescue, Forest City EMS, and Mercy Air Med.
