Three sent to hospital after accident near Rockwell Thursday afternoon

ambulanceROCKWELL, IOWA – Three people were taken to the hospital after an accident Thursday afternoon south of Rockwell.

On July 7 at about 1:54 PM, the Cerro Gordo Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident with injuries at 120th and Quail Avenue, south of Rockwell.

Janice Noss, age 78 of Rockwell was Eastbound on 120th Street in a 2003 Buick Park Avenue when a 1998 Buick LeSabre driven by 63-year-old Richard Kuns of Clear Lake was southbound on Quail Avenue failed to yield at the intersection on Quail, causing the two vehicles to collide.

Noss, Kuns and 81-year-old Richard Noss, who was a passenger in the 2003 Buick Park Avenue were all transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Mason City Fire Medics, Sheffield Fire Department and Mercy Air Med.
