WEST UNION, IOWA – A Mexican man in the United States illegally has been arrested in this small Iowa town after allegedly sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.
After a report of an alleged sexual abuse of a minor, the Fayette County Sheriff’s office conducted and intense investigation. Once the investigation was completed charges were filed on Pedro Ramon Candido, age 41 of West Union For sexual abuse in the 2nd degree a class “B” felony and sexual abuse in the 3rd degree a class “C” felony. The investigation showed that Candido had performed multiple sexual acts upon an 11 year-old female and again upon the same female at the age of 12. Candido was arrested on June 15th and taken to the Fayette County Jail and is being held on a no bond warrant. The Fayette County Sheriff’s office was also working with the Department of Homeland Security Immigrations and Customs (ICE) on the status of Candido. It was determined he was in the United States illegally and a hold was placed on Candido through (ICE) also. The victim is also being monitored by the Department of Human Services and they are working with the family.
This remains an open investigation and more charges could be filed at a later date.
If convicted, Candido could serve up to 75 years in prison, be required to be on the state sex offender registry and could face deportation from the states.

He won’t serve 75 years, he will plea bargain down. Do you think he cares if he’s on a sex registry? He is here illegally and has destroyed a little girls life. If he gets deported do you think he’ll stop being a sexual deviant. When are we going to say enough is enough. Who is supporting him??
And if he’s deported he’ll just come back to the states.
